Gerald Fanion, III is a native of Memphis serving as the Director, Regional Program where he leads the development of key relationships with local stakeholders, donors, elected officials, policy makers, media outlets, and community leaders across his regional portfolio. He also maintains a diverse portfolio of education organizations (including school districts, charter schools, non-profits, foundations, and government agencies) while promoting Education Pioneers (EP) as a pipeline for talent needs and improving K-12 education for all students.

Gerald joined EP because he believes in “service-to-others” and fully supports its mission to improve education for all students. Prior to joining EP, Gerald served as Director of Healthy Lifestyles for Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) national headquarters in Atlanta – where he managed a portfolio of partnerships and programs addressing risk factors that lead to childhood obesity. During his 8-year tenure, Gerald also served as the assistant director of character and citizenship and the assistant director of public relations, respectively. Gerald also served on BGCA’s Year of Service committee, organizing national service initiatives such as: MLK National Day of Service, United We Serve and National Family Week.

Gerald graduated from Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and received his MBA with a concentration in marketing from American Intercontinental University in Atlanta. He enjoys running 5Ks, 10Ks, and half-marathons as well as spending time with his wife, family, and two Weimaraner puppies.
