In education, strategic project management talent is the key to success. Many of our Pioneers have managed the execution and implementation of complex projects, while working collaboratively across teams to achieve the collective goal of moving the needle for students.

The Work You'll Do

Our Pioneers have utilized their management skills to support long term initiatives in education. Their collaborative work across a large breadth of projects has filled the talent gaps in organizations and schools to keep this sector’s transformation moving forward.

Public School District Expanded Learning Time Project Manager
  • Develop and execute project plan to implement a district-wide transition to extend the school day

  • Interface with and manage execution across multiple internal teams and executives

Nonprofit Advocacy Organization Student Advocacy Project Manager
  • Assist in the design and implementation of the students for school equity program

  • Execute engagement strategy to build and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders

  • Coordinate with program partners to manage logistics, planning, and communications for program-related events

Pioneer Spotlights

KIMBERLIN BUTLER

EP Alumnus, 2015

FELLOWSHIP LOCATION: DC Metro Area

PROJECTAs an EP Fellow, Kimberlin served as a relationship manager in the U.S. Department of Education’s (ED) Office of Innovation and Improvement, where she led strategy and operations as part of a newly launched Place-Based Initiatives Pilot Team (including the Advisory Committee of federal senior political and career leadership), and played an integral role in advancing the White House Community Solutions agenda and driving education collective impact strategies for the Obama Administration.

CALEB FIELDS

EP Alumna, 2014

FELLOWSHIP LOCATION: Denver

PROJECTAs a Fellow, Caleb served as Director of School-Based Operations at STRIVE Prep- Lake Campus, where he coordinated school budget, recruiting, facilities, technology, and district relations. He used his education administrative experience and business training to help provide a school atmosphere that was most conducive for teacher instruction and student learning.
