Boot Camp for Aspiring School Founders

New Schools In Service of Equity

Have you dreamed of launching a new school, but don’t know where to start? Our new EP Alumni Boot Camp for Aspiring School Founders can help you crystallize your next step and put you on the path towards achieving your vision.

While charter school student enrollment numbers and waitlists have continued to grow in many cities across the U.S., the rate at which new charter schools are opening has dramatically slowed – resulting in unmet demand for more innovative school models to meet more students’ needs.  We believe you are part of the solution to closing this gap and ensuring that more of our students have equitable access to innovative, diverse, and inclusive learning environments. Through our EP Alumni-exclusive Boot Camp for Aspiring School Founders, we see an exciting opportunity to enable and accelerate the start-up and growth of charter schools and innovative school models to provide high-quality choices to the students and families that need them most by leveraging Education Pioneers’ most valuable assets--its Alumni.

Education Pioneers Alumni demonstrate the functional acumen, leadership skills, entrepreneurial mindsets, and context to transform our schools in service of equity.

About the Program

EP’s Boot Camp for Aspiring School Founders is a new leadership development experience available exclusively to EP Alumni. We will recruit, inspire, and train 20 aspiring school founders and support them in moving from intention to action in bringing their new charter school and innovative school model ideas to life.  Selected participants will begin their experience during the first two weeks of August in either the Bay Area or Kansas City (depending on proximity and participants schedules) where we will come together for three days of experiential learning that includes site-visits, deep dives into the ecosystem of new schools, and candid conversations with leaders and champions. Participants will then receive three months of follow-up support through 1:1 executive coaching, peer networks, and virtual learning opportunities. By then end of this experience, participants will report that they have taken or will take at least 1 new meaningful step toward developing or launching a new school.
