Place Bridge Academy has more than 1,000 of Denver’s brightest students in grades ECE-8 fill their classrooms and hallways every day, contributing to an environment of learning and cultural celebration. More than 60 different languages and over 40 different countries from around the world are represented in the student body, and the school stands behind a foundation of acceptance and inclusiveness. In order to address the unique needs of their newly arriving refugee and immigrant students, Place Bridge Academy has “Newcomer Centers” alongside the mainstream classrooms in grades K-6 to provide concentrated English language development.
Every year, they celebrate the school's diversity with International Night. The event includes food from around the world, booths representing the diverse countries of their school community, a fashion show, and performances. Currently, they are seeking volunteers to help during the event set up, clean up, and with various event support needs. In 2018, 88 Countries were represented at the Place Bridge Academy’s International Night. The top 10 countries represented at Place Bridge Academy’s student body are the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Somalia, Mexico, the USA/Hawaii, Afghanistan, Burma/ Myanmar, Iraq, Nepal, Syria, and Thailand.
