EP Alumni Service Projects for MLK Day of Service

EP Alumni are participating in the annual MLK Day of Service — a day ON, not a day off. Currently both the Boston and DC Alumni boards have organized service projects, as others are scheduled they'll be added below. 


EP Alumni are invited to join members of the EP Boston network at City Year’s MLK day to serve Boston Schools. As a volunteer you’ll have the opportunity to connect with EP Alumni as well as paint murals, pack supply kits, and revitalize school bulletin boards to support Brighton High School in its spring semester. Day of the event: Please arrive a few minutes early for registration. Parking is limited; school is easily accessible by MBTA

DC Metro Area

Each January, we observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day not as a day off, but a day ON! Join your fellow EP Alums as we volunteer with a school beautification project Ron Brown High School (Directions) in DC's Brentwood community. EP Alums, friends, and family of all ages are welcome! Sign up here by January 16th and choose Education Pioneers Board/Alumni as your organization/affiliation. Please note: City Year DC is organizing this overall event.

Day of the event: Look for the EP sign by the event check-in. EP DC Alumni Board Members will be wearing black t-shirts/tops to identify ourselves and encourage you to do the same! Check-in is between 8:00 am and 9:30 am, EP DC Alumni Board Members will arrive at 8:30 am in order to watch the opening program at 9:00 am.
