Alex Hemmer is based in the Bay Area, where he supports Alumni initiatives and communications, and helps coordinate EP’s use of The Exchange, an online networking, resource and job sharing platform.
Alex joined Education Pioneers to make sure that everyone has access to the resources and support necessary to succeed. Alex grew up in rural Vermont, where he was fortunate to attend a strong public school system with many extra-curricular academic opportunities. He earned a full scholarship to college, where he found a passion in education as a Teaching Fellow and by planning campus enrichment events. Between school and joining EP, Alex kept an educational focus by working as Team Trainer at Whole Foods in Colorado. He introduced a comprehensive training plan for new hires, led customer awareness initiatives, and developed an informational newsletter about the food system.
Alex graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont. He also volunteers as a leadership coach at San Jose State and looks forward to future graduate studies and a long career in education reform. Alex is loving life in the Bay Area with its temperate weather, good food, and diversity of new people to meet.
