Jessica E. Salvador joined the Education Pioneers Los Angeles cohort in summer 2010 working with the Los Angeles Unified School District's Office of the Superintendent Policy team on the Supporting All Employees initiatives. Over the summer, she developed the stakeholder engagement and communications plan and toolkit and analysis frameworks to research teacher performance evaluation models and incentive programs. The engagement plan outlines communication strategies, accountability and assessment tools to evaluate the impact of engagement initiatives and its use in the decision-making process and identifies community and district partner organizations to engage a wide range of stakeholder groups. In addition, Jessica worked with the team to develop partnerships and design the outreach process and presentation materials. Jessica began her career in education teaching mathematics and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) in the Hacienda/La Puente Unified School District. She returned to graduate school after six years of teaching and is now a PhD candidate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Washington where she teaches service learning courses and serves on the board of a community-based organization partnering with both higher education institutions and the public school district.
