Chris Tessone joined the D.C. Metro cohort of Education Pioneers in summer 2010. Chris was placed at the Office of Public Charter School Financing and Support in D.C.'s Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE). While at OSSE, he developed: 1) a new standardized credit enhancement product to help improve financing options for more than 55 public charter schools in the District; and 2) built management tools for reporting the terms and performance of past investments in charter facilities. Prior to pursuing an MBA in finance at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, Chris worked as an operations consultant at the Vagus Group, a boutique management services firm specializing in the hospitality, gaming and leisure travel industries. He worked for Fortune 500 and private equity clients to improve their strategies and operational plans for call centers, IT departments and human capital functions.
