Theo Lieu joined Education Pioneers in Los Angeles for the summer of 2007. Theo worked with Green Dot Public Schools to pursue a number of legal and political strategies to adopt many of the principles that have made Green Dot successful - mainly smaller classrooms, local control and union reform.

Prior to attending law school, Theo worked with Platform Learning, a national for-profit provider of after-school tutoring programs for students attending underperforming public schools. As a Program Manager, he managed the planning, implementation, and oversight of literacy and math tutoring programs at New York City Public School sites deemed 'in need of improvement' by the state per the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).
