As an Education Pioneers Fellow, Lauren worked with Building Excellent Schools (BES), where she designed financial models and practitioner-based, finance-focused case studies for multiple charter school territories. These materials will be used in BES' Fellowship program in order to prepare its Fellows for charter writing and to build and support the financial skills Fellows require.

Lauren's career began at North Star Academy Charter School of Newark, New Jersey, a public charter school that provides a rigorous, college-preparatory academic program in an under-resourced community. In addition to teaching, she established the high school's chemistry and physics courses, developing a year-long curriculum and laboratory program for each subject.
