About Year Up
Year Up is a one-year, intensive training program that provides urban young adults 18-24, with a unique combination of technical and professional skills, college credits, an educational stipend and corporate apprenticeship.
Our success is our graduates -- enabling them to move on to full-time employment and higher education. Year Up is about providing opportunities for urban young adults to demonstrate their true potential.
Mission
Year Up's mission is to close the opportunity divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experiences and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education
Impact
We measure success in the following ways: Program: % positive student outcomes (as measured by retention and placement in school and/or career jobs), $ average hourly wage post-YU, % student satisfaction Funding: % sustainable revenue raised, % strength of intern partnerships, % donor retention People/Culture/Values: % Team strength, % culture strength, % values adherence Strategic goals: % strengthen the core, % systems change, % scaleable model Movement: engagement, reputation & reach, changing perceptions. (this is our newest area and specific targets/definitions in progress)
