"Education Pioneers provided a tremendously powerful experience that fundamentally transformed my understanding of urban education. The best part of that experience is that it is on-going. The network of leaders and colleagues I forged this summer will travel with me along my career path, serving as a source of inspiration and support."

Stuart Frye, MBA, Harvard University, 2007 Boston Fellow, Citizen Schools

Building a Network

During their summer experience Fellows forge strong connections with each other, local education leaders, and Education Pioneers Alumni through a series of networking events including:

  • Fellows Showcase: Near the close of the Summer Program, Fellows spotlight the impact of their work at an event attended by over 1,000 Partners, Alumni, Investors, and friends of Education Pioneers across the nation.
  • Workshops: Summer workshops are attended by leaders from the entire education ecosystem allowing Fellows the opportunity to build a strong professional network of emerging and existing education leaders.
  • Social gatherings: By attending evening and weekend social events, Fellows build and strengthen connections to other Fellows and leaders from the industry. Events occur at each location throughout the summer and are often organized by Fellows.

Joining a National Network

Education Pioneers plans to build a strong Alumni Program to support its national network of education leaders collectively working to transform our nation's educational system. As the Fellows Program expands to new sites across the nation, the Education Pioneers Alumni network will experience rapid growth with pockets of strength in urban centers across the nation.

By 2013, the Education Pioneers network will include more than 2,200 alumni who will drive significant change as education leaders in urban centers across the nation.
