Analyst Fellowship: The Experience

With a competitive salary, 10 months of high-impact work experience, professional development, and career support, the Education Pioneers Analyst Fellowship offers a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore a business career in the education industry.

Individually-Matched, High-Impact Work Experience

Education Pioneers' Partner organizations and supervisors go through a rigorous selection process to ensure that Analyst Fellows' work experience is both challenging and rewarding. We partner with leading education organizations - including school districts, charter school management organizations, government agencies, and education nonprofits - that share our commitment to prepare and advance top talent and improve opportunities for urban students.

Analyst Fellows are individually matched with a mission-critical consulting project for one of our Partner organizations.  We work with each Fellow to ensure that his/her skills and interests are aligned with the needs of our Partners.

Working under the supervision of a high-level organization leader, our Fellows consult on key initiatives - such as strategic planning, financial analysis, student achievement analysis, and technology implementation - and directly impact our Partner organizations' capacity to track, measure, and optimize results. Projects are designed to challenge Fellows' previous experience and provide an opportunity to grow within Partner organizations in the education sector.

The Fellowship's work experience includes:

  • A salary of $45,000 for 10 months of full-time work ($4,500 per month; $54,000 annualized), plus benefits
  • Individualized placements that match Fellows with a project based on their skills and interests and on Partner needs
  • Mission-critical consulting work that will challenge and build upon previous experience
  • The supervision of an experienced organization leader

The Fellowship Experience: Professional and Personal Development

In addition to the experience gained on the job, the Fellowship provides our Analyst Fellows with exposure and access to successful leaders, organizations, and initiatives in urban education.  The Fellowship equips Analyst Fellows to discuss key education issues credibly and skillfully, advance their professional skills, understand key leadership career paths in education, and develop individual leadership styles to create change in education.

To enhance the Fellowship experience, and broaden our Fellows' personal and professional development, we facilitate the following:

  • Professional development workshops that expand Fellows' knowledge of the education system
  • Community service projects to connect Fellows directly with the kids and families they serve
  • Brown-bag lunches and dinners with key education leaders
  • Career support during and after the Fellowship as Analyst Fellows consider continuing to work in education, attending graduate school, or returning to the private sector
